Tiếng ViệtContinuing the conference “The water quality of Phu Loc river and its regulatory lakes: Situation & Solutions”, in May 26, 2022, the Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment of Da Nang in collaboration with the Drainage & Wastewater Treatment Company held a seminar “Drainage management of Phu Loc river base: Situation & Solution”. The event is part of the initiative “Research and proposed solutions to protect the water environment of Phu Loc river with the participation of the community” within the framework of the project “Collective Actions for Water Conservation” supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development – USAID and coordinated by the Center of Environment and Community Research (CECR).

The conference was chaired by the Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment of Da Nang and it had the participation of delegates from the following units: Department of Minerals and Water Resources, the Division of Natural Resources and Environment of Lien Chieu district, the Drainage & Wastewater Treatment Company, Priority Infrastructure Investment Project Management Board, Center of Environment and Community Research (CECR), The University of Danang – University of Science and Technology and Ms. Nguyen Lan Phuong – Expert of Water supply and Drainage.

At the first part of the conference, the delegates presented the following report: (1) Report on Drainage & Protection of urban rivers and lakes – Assoc. Dr. Tran Van Quang; (2) Management and operation of drainage system & Measures to control pollution, protect water quality of regulation lakes and Phu Loc river – Ms. Nguyen Thi My Gion, the Drainage & Wastewater Treatment Company; (3) Engineering measures combine landscape improvement with water quality improvement in Phu Loc river basin – MSc. Architects. Duong Hung Minh – Danang University of Science and Technology, Department of Architecture, The University of Danang – University of Science and Technology; (4) Drainage database, starting water of digital transformation in drainage management & Protection of urban river and lake water quality – Dr. Tran Ha Quan, Department of Environment, The University of Danang – University of Science and Technology

After the reports presented, the delegates actively participated in the discussion on the current situation of water supply and drainage, remaining issues and solutions to effectively manage water drainage in the Phu Loc river basin. The ideas contributed in the seminar are practical ideas and reflect the needs of the community

After discussing the situation and solutions, the seminar ended successfully. The Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment of Da Nang will continue to organize a third seminar to collect opinions from management units. For the ideas in the second seminar, the Association has fully absorbed it as a basis for completing the proposed solutions and plans to protect the environment at Phu Loc river and handed it over to theDanang Environment and Resources Department to use in the future.
