On July 30-31, 2022, at Thien Ma One Member Company Limited, the Institute for Environmental Science and Technology (INEST) organized the installation of a water reuse system from the aquatic production wastewater treatment system of the Company. The activity is a part of the initiative “Promoting water reuse initiatives according to the circular economy approach” within the framework of the project “Join hands to protect water resources” funded by the United States Agency for International Development – USAID, with the Center for Environment and Community Research (CECR) as the coordinating agency.

The system was designed and installed with the main leadership of INEST, the coordination and support of CECR and the Faculty of Environment, Danang University of Science and Technology. The installation received the enthusiastic assistance and support of Thien Ma Company’s Board of Directors and staff. The treated water will be used for watering plants in an area or cleaning equipment. The equipment used for the installation was carefully prepared in advance and INEST also had previous surveys and measurements, so the installation was carried out quickly in the morning.

The system started operating from the date of installation. It was designed to function automatically based on the characteristics of the wastewater treatment system of Thien Ma Company, so it can operate by itself without supervision. INEST and Danang University of Science and Technology will periodically check and record data for research and evaluation.

The system will be operated and measured continuously until December 2022 with the goal of accompanying businesses to demonstrate the benefits of water reuse, as a basis for developing recommendations and policies on water reuse.
