POLICY TALK: THE ROLE AND PARTICIPATION OF WOMEN IN CLASSIFICATION, COLLECTION AND RECYCLING OF PLASTIC WASTE

On the morning of March 11, 2022, the Center for Environment and Community Research (CECR) organized “Policy Talk: Women’s Participation and Role in Plastic Waste Management”; The talk is part of the project ” Solutions to Plastic Pollution Through Inclusive Recyling- ASSPIRE” sponsored by Ocean Conservancy, and deployed in Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi.

During the talk, the delegates heard about the relationship between gender and waste from the Colombian experience, the national policy of plastic waste management, and the role and challenges of plastic waste collection in the business. resource circular economy. Especially, the results of the project to mobilize the participation of women as informal collectors in waste management in Me Tri have received positive feedback from the delegates.
The results of the seminar gave recommendations to increase the recognition and contribution of women in the direction of a circular economy of resources.
