Tiếng ViệtOn December 20, 2025, the Center for Environment and Community Research (CECR), in collaboration with local authorities, the Sustainable Community (KDCBV) Core Group of Ta Lang – Gian Bi villages, and local residents, organized an environmental clean-up campaign combined with a training program on implementing the Sustainable Community Model for Environmental Protection and Climate Change Adaptation.
The activity was conducted at the Guol House area and community spaces of the two villages, aiming to raise awareness and strengthen community participation in environmental protection and adaptation to the impacts of climate change.

As part of the program, local residents joined hands to collect waste, clean public areas, clear weeds, and improve the cleanliness of the Guol House and surrounding roads and communal spaces. The activity not only contributed to improving the local environment and landscape but also encouraged the community to maintain regular environmental sanitation activities, helping to build a green, clean, and beautiful living environment.
Immediately following the clean-up campaign, a training session was organized with the participation of households, the core group, and representatives of local mass organizations. The training focused on household waste segregation at source; solutions for waste reduction, reuse, and recycling; protection of the Cu De River water resources linked to the responsibility of each household; identification, prevention, and management of disaster risks; and the integration of gender equality and women’s participation in environmental protection and climate change adaptation activities.

Through discussions, exchanges, and practical exercises, community members had the opportunity to share challenges related to waste management and environmental protection in their locality, while jointly identifying solutions that are suitable for local conditions and community needs.
Several pioneering households were selected to participate in pilot activities on waste segregation at source and other environmental initiatives. These pilot models will serve as a basis for monitoring, evaluating effectiveness, and gradually scaling up the model throughout the community in the coming period.
The program is one of the key activities under the Sustainable Community Model for Environmental Protection and Climate Change Adaptation. It contributes to raising awareness, strengthening community cohesion, and promoting practical actions by local residents. Through these efforts, the project aims to gradually build green, clean, safe, and sustainable communities, with local people playing a central role in environmental protection and climate change adaptation.
