WORKSHOP ON DEVELOPING THE 2025 PLAN FOR THE GENDER EQUALITY AND CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION TECHNICAL WORKING GROUP

On December 4, 2024, in Meeting Room C2 at the UN Green One House, the Center for Environment and Community Research (CECR) and members of the Technical Working Group on Gender Equality and Climate Change Adaptation (TWG) held a workshop to develop the TWG’s 2025 plan.

The workshop assessed members’ recent activities over the past six months and discussed a detailed action plan for the upcoming year, with the participation of more than 20 representatives from core member organizations including CECR, CCIHP, CEPEW, C&E, YENBAI CDSH, KCT, and the Hanoi Disabled People Association. Notably, representatives from UN WOMEN in Vietnam attended to evaluate and contribute to the working group’s plan to ensure its effectiveness.

The workshop focused on reporting and evaluating activities from the past six months, highlighting efforts to reduce gender-based violence and enhance climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction. Simultaneously, representatives also shared experiences related to the Beijing Platform for Action 30th, discussed opportunities and challenges, and identified key issues for the 2025 action plan.

This event marked an important milestone in the development of TWG. CECR hopes that in 2025, the working group will achieve more significant achievements on its road to gender equality and climate change adaptation.
