TRAINING PROGRAM “RAISING AWARENESS ON CLIMATE CHANGE, GENDER AND DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION”

On 25 and 26 July 2024, the Center for Environment and Community Research organized a training program on “Raising Awareness on Climate Change, Gender and Digital Transformation”, sponsored by the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women). The program aimed to raise awareness and explore opportunities to promote gender equality and social inclusion in the context of climate change and disaster risk reduction.

The event attracted the participation and support of representatives from the Department of Climate Change, the Institute of Labor Science and Social Affairs under the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, senior experts from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, as well as leaders of organizations in the TWG and organizations working in the field of Climate Change and Gender Equality from Yen Bai, Da Nang, Thai Binh and Ha Tinh.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The program covered important topics such as: Current status of progress on Gender Equality in Vietnam; The Impact of Climate Change on Gender Equality; Strategies for Gender Mainstreaming in Climate Change Policy; Models for Women’s Participation in Climate Change; Progress in Implementing Climate Change Commitments in Vietnam and COP 29; Developing a Communication Plan; and Event Updates: Beijing Platform for Action, Vietnam Implementation Report; along with opportunities to promote gender equality through digital transformation and artificial intelligence (AI).

The training program is an opportunity to expand and connect TWG members with local organizations, contributing to building a stronger community in the field of gender and climate change.
