Project “Building Da Nang – An Environmental City” within the framework of the “Collective Actions for Water Conservation” Project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The training session was attended by more than 40 students who are civil servants and officials in charge of and consulting on the field of the environment at relevant departments, agencies, People’s Committees of districts, associations and unions; departments and units under the Department of Natural Resources and Environment in Da Nang City.
The training session provided knowledge about the purpose and requirements of urban environmental planning and implementation of the project “Building Da Nang – Environmental City”; Manage by objectives and develop implementation plans based on results; Analytical methods/techniques when developing plans; Develop a detailed implementation plan according to a unified form for 2022 and 2023 and effective methods/techniques for implementing the plan.

Speaking at the training session, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ha, Deputy Director of the Department of Environmental Protection, shared: ‘On April 2, 2021, the People’s Committee of Da Nang City issued Decision No. 1099/QD-UBND on approving the Project “Building Da Nang – An Environmental City” for the period of 2021 – 2030, in which “Strengthening capacity, raising awareness about environmental protection” is one of the four key solutions to build and develop a contingent of capable and qualified staff to meet the requirements, objectives and tasks set out by the Project’.
It is expected that after the training, the officials and civil servants who are mainly responsible for developing the annual plan of the Environmental City Project will clearly understand the purpose and requirements of developing a plan to implement the “Construction” project. building Da Nang an Environmental City”; Apply techniques to assess the current situation, analyze the parties involved in the development and implementation of plans, assess the capacity of human resources; The overall goal of the plan is established and the four key contents of the Scheme are established; Understand the roles and responsibilities of the units and individuals assigned to implement this project.
This activity is within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed on June 4, 2021, between the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Da Nang city and the Center for Environment and Community Research on the implementation of the project “Collective Actions for Water Conservation (CAWACON)”, funded by USAID.
