World Environment Day on June 5, 2024 was launched by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) with the theme “Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience”. This is a global call for important goals: land restoration, combating desertification, increasing drought resilience, slowing down climate change, protecting nature, and enhancing livelihoods and food security for billions of people around the world.
Let’s restore the land by implementing measures to improve and protect the soil, prevent erosion, reforest and protect ecosystems. At the same time, we need to combat drought and desertification through the application of water-saving technologies, sustainable water resource management and wetland protection. In addition, let’s enhance livelihoods and food security by supporting sustainable agriculture, developing green economic models and protecting biodiversity.
Let’s join hands with CECR to act for a green, clean and sustainable planet!
