Tiếng ViệtOn May 22, 2023, at the 5th floor hall, Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee, No. 126 Hang Trong, Hang Trong Ward, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi, Division of Natural Resources & Environment and Division of Education & Training of Hoan Kiem District, in collaboration with the Center for Environmental and Community Research (CECR), held the Summary Day of the Program “Building Green Schools – For a Green Hanoi” for the school year 2022-2023.
Attending the Summary day were representatives of the Department of Natural Resources & Environment of Hanoi City; leaders of Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee, Leaders of Education and Training Division, Leaders of Division of Natural Resources & Environment; the participation of companion units: Center for Environmental and Community Research (CECR), Hanoi University of Science and Technology – LaserPulse Project “Research and develop sustainable solutions for circulation and reuse wastewater for businesses and the community”, ILA English Center, Hanoi Urban Environment Company Limited (Urenco Hanoi), Hanoi Urban Environment Company Limited – Hoan Kiem Branch (Urenco Hoan Kiem), Center for Living and Learning for Environment and Community (Live & Learn), in addition, the program is supported by: Ocean Conservancy.

An important contribution to the success of the day is the presence of the Board of Directors, teachers, parents and students representing 39 Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary Schools in Hoan Kiem District.
Musical performance by students
Responding to World Environment Day with the theme “Solutions to plastic pollution”, the Summary day was organized to raise awareness for people and the young generation (students) about the harmful effects of environmental pollution in general and plastic waste pollution in particular; thereby, contributing to the implementation of environmental programs and plans.
Fashion show with recycled products
At the day, the active participation of 39 schools in the district was recognized and commended, the program selected the Top 10 Excellent Green Schools; Top 11 entries were awarded the title of “Excellent Green Ambassador” and “Youngest Green Ambassador”; 34 slogans on environmental protection were ranked and honored in the event, etc. Hopefully these awards will be an encouragement to schools, teachers, parents, and especially students – the future generation of the country – continue to promote their positive and enthusiastic spirit in environmental protection activities, keeping Hoan Kiem Green in the future.
