In the morning of November, 9th, 2022 the Women’s Union of Nam Tu Liem District in collaboration with the Center for Environment and Community Research (CECR) organized the Summary Training Of Trainers Program (TOT) Social fingerprints in the community framework of the project “Strengthening the role of women in solutions to reduce plastic waste pollution through sustainable sorting and recycling”. The project is funded by the Ocean Conservancy.

After a period of implementation of the social fingerprinting training program, 300 women and waste bottles have been mobilized in the district. During the closing session, the delegates listened to the sharing of lessons and experiences from the Women’s Club to support the collection of bottles and scraps in the implementation of occupational safety, occupational health and safety practices environmental protection work in the District

Women play an important role in the entire waste value chain from discharge, classification, collection and treatment at households, workplaces and communities. It is necessary to continue to deploy and replicate the models of women participating in the collection, classification and recycling of low-value waste at the local level. Through the Women’s Union, to encourage women to participate in plastic waste management, especially at the stage of classification and collection.
