May 19 is the day all Vietnamese people and friends from all over the world look forward to celebrating Uncle Ho’s birthday. Reviewing his valuable lessons and pure deeds will be a golden opportunity for us to learn from a great role model, an exemplary model of morality, lifestyle and work. Uncle Ho’s every word and action is directed towards the practical benefits of people, towards the harmony between people, society and nature, in which the protection of the ecological environment is not outside that purpose. President Ho Chi Minh’s views on the protection of the ecological environment are clearly demonstrated through his daily life, articles, speeches, movements, and advice to the people and officials. To the end of his life, in the words in his Will, Uncle Ho also did not forget to mention the issue of protecting the ecological environment.

“There should be a plan to plant trees on and around the hill. Those who visit will plant some trees to commemorate their trip. In the long run, many trees will become a forest, which will do good to the landscape as well as agriculture…” (Will, 1965).
