Roundtable Discussion: "Improving watershed – the solution does not lie in the river"

Taking advantage of the trip of the speaker – Professor. Dr. Eric Pallant – Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Allegheny America to the US Embassy in Hanoi, in the morning of 18/9/2014, in Hanoi, Center for Environment and Community Research, in collaboration with the US Embassy in Vietnam have held a roundtable discussion: “Improving watershed – the solution does not lie in the river.”
With the theme “Improving watershed – the solution does not lie in the river,” Prof. Dr. Eric Pallant has shared about the activities and experiences that he and his working group have implemented to restore and protect the water resources. Accordingly, Mr. Pallant made 4 groups of solutions to watershed rehabilitation, including:
• Education of water protection: From preschool children to business managers.
• Renewal of water resources management.
• Environmental friendly and economically efficient industrial production.
• Rational agricultural farming.
The discussion takes place in the lively air, revolves around the 4 groups of solutions that Mr. Pallant proposed.
Organizing academic discussions like this is an opportunity for CECR and other organizations to learn the experience, innovative ideas in protecting water resources.
